Ja'Marion Wayne is an athlete (ATH) at Parkway West High School. His Track & Field times as a freshman are impressive. He recorded a 11.64 in the 100 meter, 23.57 in the 200 meter and leaped to a 19' 7.5" in the long jump.
Standing at 6'3" 180 lbs, Wayne is a do it all player for West on the football field as well, playing Wide Receiver, Defensive Back, and Special Teams. He also broke the school record at Running Back rushing for 310 yards on October 17th against Parkway Central.
Since his sophomore season, Wayne has received offers from the University of Kansas, University of Minnesota, University of Missouri - Columbia, University of Nebraska, and the University of Arkansas.
Blessed and honored to receive my 3rd offer from The UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI @BushHamdan @CoachDrinkwitz @SWiltfong247 @AllenTrieu @JoshHelmholdt @DemetricDWarren @Clint_Cosgrove @JPRockMO pic.twitter.com/j2p3UaHTuW— Ja’Marion Wayne (@Jamarionwayne2) April 23, 2020
Wayne possesses explosiveness that jumps out on film. He can run by you and speed and is strong enough to break tackles. On defense he will come up and be physical at the point of attack. He can cover up holes in the secondary at safety with his ball skills and speed. While being dominant, he still is raw in some areas and will improve over the course of his next two years which is scary for his opponents.
With the help of a tweet from Coach Reed, the Lutheran North High School head coach, the once underdog became an overnight D1 prospect. We expect Ja'Marion to emerge not only as one of the top players in the state of Missouri but in the nation.
